스티브 잡스는 이렇게 말합니다. “우리가 성장하면서 세상이 정해져 있는 것처럼 받아들이게 된다. ‘세상은 원래 이런 거고, 너는 그 안에서 부딪히지 않으면서 살아가라’라는 말을 듣는다. 좋은 가정을 꾸리고, 재미있게 살고, 조금 돈을 모으면서 살아가는 것이 전부라고 생각하게 된다. 하지만 그것은 매우 제한적인 삶이다.” 그의 말은 우리가 당연하다고 여겼던 많은 것이 사실은 다른 사람들이 만들어낸 것들이라는 점을 강조합니다. 예를 들어, 현재의 학교 시스템은 150년 전 말을 잘 듣는 노동자를 양성하기 위해 설계된 것이라고 합니다. 그렇다면 우리는 이러한 기존 틀에서 벗어나 무엇이 진정으로 필요한지, 내가 진정으로 원하는 것이 무엇인지를 물어야 합니다.

예수님께서 이 땅에 오셨을 때, 당시의 사회와 문화는 하나님의 본래 뜻에서 벗어난 엉망인 상태였습니다. 예수님은 그 문화와 사회 개념들을 그대로 수용하지 않으셨습니다. 대신 하나님의 말씀의 본래 의미를 회복시키는 사역을 하셨습니다. 이는 스티브 잡스가 말한 "기존 틀에서 벗어나 새로운 관점을 발견해야 한다"는 개념과 일맥상통합니다.

예수님께서 하나님의 말씀을 본래 의미대로 회복하신 대표적인 예는 안식일에 대한 가르침에서 찾아볼 수 있습니다. 당시 바리새인들과 종교 지도자들은 안식일을 지키는 것을 매우 엄격한 율법으로 규정하고, 사람들이 그 틀 안에서 갇혀 살아가도록 만들었습니다. 하지만 예수님은 "안식일이 사람을 위하여 있는 것이지, 사람이 안식일을 위하여 있는 것이 아니다"(마가복음 2:27)라고 말씀하시며, 안식일의 본래 목적이 하나님과의 관계 회복과 쉼에 있음을 가르치셨습니다.

또한, 예수님은 당시 사회에서 배척받고 소외된 이들에게 다가가셨습니다. 사마리아 여인(요한복음 4장), 세리 삭개오(누가복음 19장)와의 만남은 당시 문화적, 종교적 경계를 넘어서 하나님의 사랑과 회복의 메시지를 전한 사건들입니다. 이는 기존의 틀을 깨고 새로운 길을 여는 과정이었으며, 이를 통해 예수님은 하나님 나라의 가치를 세상에 선포하셨습니다.

스티브 잡스의 말처럼 예수님은 세상이 정해놓은 트랙을 그대로 따라가지 않으셨습니다. 오히려 하나님의 뜻과 사랑을 따라 새로운 길을 여셨습니다. 이러한 예수님의 사역은 우리에게도 중요한 교훈을 줍니다. 우리 각자는 하나님께서 주신 고유한 부르심과 특별함을 가지고 있습니다. 세상의 틀에 얽매이기보다, 하나님께서 주신 영적 직감과 열정을 따라 우리의 부르심을 발견하고 그 길을 걸어가야 합니다.

우리 교회의 부르심도 마찬가지입니다. 우리는 기존의 틀에 안주하지 않고, 하나님의 말씀과 하나님의 사랑을 따라 새로운 모델을 제시해야 합니다. "신약교회 개척과 새로운 피조물의 리얼 라이프 모델"을 세우고, "재정적 자유와 하나님의 나라 확장"이라는 목표를 이루는 것은 우리의 특별한 부르심입니다. 이는 세상에 나와 같은 DNA를 가진 사람이 단 한 명도 없는 것처럼, 각 교회가 고유한 특별함과 부르심을 가졌음을 의미합니다.

결론적으로, 예수님은 세상의 틀에 순응하지 않으셨습니다. 대신 하나님의 말씀과 사랑을 통해 세상을 변화시키셨습니다. 우리도 예수님의 본을 따라 세상에 하나님의 뜻을 나타내고, 각자가 받은 고유한 부르심을 발견하며 나아가야 합니다. 이것이 진정한 성공이며, 하나님께 영광을 돌리는 길입니다. 우리의 삶과 교회를 통해 하나님의 특별한 계획과 목적이 이루어지기를 기도합니다.

Innovation by Steve Jobs and Jesus Christ

Steve Jobs once said, "As we grow up, we tend to get told that the world is the way it is and your life is just to live inside the world, try not to bash into the walls too much, have a nice family life, have fun, save a little money. That’s a very limited life." His words highlight how much of what we take for granted has actually been created by others. For instance, the modern school system was designed 150 years ago to produce obedient workers. Therefore, we need to ask what is truly necessary and what we genuinely desire, breaking free from existing frameworks.

When Jesus Christ came to this earth, the social and cultural systems of the time were far removed from God’s original design. Jesus did not conform to these systems but instead worked to restore the true meaning of God's Word. This aligns with the concept Steve Jobs emphasized—breaking away from traditional frameworks to discover new perspectives.

One prominent example of Jesus restoring the original intent of God’s Word is His teaching on the Sabbath. At the time, Pharisees and religious leaders strictly regulated Sabbath observance, trapping people within a rigid framework. However, Jesus taught, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath" (Mark 2:27), revealing that the true purpose of the Sabbath is to provide rest and restoration in God.

Additionally, Jesus reached out to those marginalized and rejected by society. His encounters with the Samaritan woman (John 4) and Zacchaeus, the tax collector (Luke 19), broke cultural and religious boundaries to share God’s love and message of restoration. This process of breaking old molds and paving new ways allowed Jesus to proclaim the values of God’s kingdom to the world.

Like Steve Jobs, Jesus did not follow the pre-set track of the world. Instead, He created a new path guided by God’s will and love. His ministry offers profound lessons for us. Each of us has a unique calling and distinct purpose from God. Rather than being confined by worldly frameworks, we must follow the spiritual intuition and passion God has placed in us to discover and walk in our calling.

The same applies to our church. We are called not to settle for existing models but to follow God’s Word and love, presenting a new paradigm. Our mission of "building New Testament churches and modeling the real-life of new creations" and achieving "financial freedom and the expansion of God’s kingdom" reflects our unique calling. Just as no one else in the world shares your DNA, each church has its distinct calling and special purpose.

In conclusion, Jesus did not conform to the world’s systems but transformed the world through God’s Word and love. We are called to follow His example, revealing God’s will to the world, discovering our unique calling, and stepping forward boldly. This is true success and a path that glorifies God. May our lives and our church fulfill God’s extraordinary plans and purposes.
